You’re watching the V spot, your home for the ecomm nearly news. Thanks Amazon, BFCM is now a 12 day event going by the Admoniker, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Cyber Tuesday, Cyber Wednesday, Black Thursday, Black Friday Again, Black Saturday, Cyber Sunday Cry Monday.
Let’s do the news.
Just reaching us here that a German court rules Google must pay €572M for for violating antitrust rules in price comparison sector. Disappointed Google was without comment for almost 2 hours, during which time, they made enough money to pay the fine.
Other big news that was dropped yesterday. Google entered the ecommerce race to Agentism and launched their Agentic Commerce product - Buy for Me or as the cool kids are calling it - Google Underwhelm. (Thanks Rick Watson ) Underwhelm is a a first cousin twice removed from Google shopping. A second cousin to Google Circles and has a distinct fragrance not dissimilar to Googe Marketing Live. Bloggers and analysts the world over have written literal column inches about this.
We’re buzzing to keep rolling with our sponsor, Omnisend — the email platform that’s officially Vinny-Proof. No needless jargon, no alphabet soup of nonsense. Just one acronym that matters: ROI. Because merchants are making $68 for every $1 spent on email. They are not embarrassed by this, its just, its just BFCM season, you know. Yet their CS team is still churning out the human hello.
Thats the 2 minutes you are not getting back this week.
